Biography
Zach was born in 1975 in Toronto, where his first love of music began as a piano student for 7 years. As the teenage years rolled in, that love transformed to Hip-Hop. Zach would record a weekly radio show playing mostly 80′s Rap music, then would re-edit the mix on a tape using only his favorite tracks of the week. Finally, Zach would blast the new mix out of his bedroom window, full volume, until the neighbors complained!
Zach’s love for House, Trance and Techno came after moving to Vancouver, BC in 1996, where he hooked up with DJ’s Jay Zoney, Sleepwalker, and DJ Zen. A new love of spinning vinyl took him to Cortes Island, where he became a founding “Grandfather” of The Munson Family. Throwing events all over the Gulf Islands, this small production company still hosts the infamous annual Carrington Festival, an outdoor show hosting the finest in local and international talents for the past 15 years and counting.
Zach was also the head DJ for Lucid Records and Clothing in Courtenay and Nanaimo for 4 years, where he began a monthly Acid Techno party in the basement of Joe’s Cafe in Courtenay. Playing mostly all over the Island and Vancouver, Zach has also played in Toronto and Barrie, Ont, and has recently returned from a trip in Vietnam, where he rocked Hanoi Rock City in Hanoi for New Years Eve.
